• What is GPT Image 2.5 Gen?

  GPT Image 2.5 Gen is a browser-based AI image generator and AI image editor. Describe the picture you want and it creates it from text. Upload a reference photo and describe a change, and it edits that image instead. Both happen in one chat workspace, so you can keep refining the same result without explaining it again.

• How much does it cost to generate or edit an image?

  There is no free tier. Generating or editing an image spends credits from your account, and credits come with a paid plan: Lite at $9.90 per month for 20,000 credits, Pro at $19.90 for 48,000 credits, or Ultra at $39.90 for 100,000 credits, each also sold yearly. Once a plan is active you can add a one-off credit top-up. The pricing page lists exactly what every plan includes.

• Which image models can I choose from?

  Two. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst is selected by default; GPT Image 2.5 Flare is the other option and came back about twice as fast in our own timing. Both cost the same number of credits per image. You can switch between them from one turn to the next inside the same conversation.

• Can I edit an existing photo instead of generating from scratch?

  Yes. The same tool is a text to image generator and an AI image editor. Attach up to four reference images, or pick one from your library, then describe the change in plain language: replace the background, restyle the shot, swap the product, adjust the framing. The agent decides whether to generate a new image or edit your reference, and keeps every version in the conversation.

• What aspect ratios and resolutions are supported?

  Choose 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 21:9 or 9:21, or leave the ratio on Auto. Resolution can be set to 1K or 2K, or left on Auto so the model decides. Asking for a vertical poster or a widescreen cover therefore returns the right framing without cropping afterwards.

• Do I need an account, and who can see my images?

  You need an account to upload, generate and save, and sign-in is through Google. Your generations stay in your personal library. A conversation is private by default; you can publish it as a read-only share link and switch it back to private at any time, which also revokes access to the images inside it.
